Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 12th December 2025
Y6 – Friday 12th December 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
In our penultimate week in school, we have enjoyed a range of different tasks across our curriculum. In English, we have been writing our explanation texts about pufferfish, vultures and tigers. In maths, we have been familiarising ourselves with metric measures, solving a range of reasoning questions. We investigated the cheese-making progress; for our IT, we have considered designing a poster to represent our online personalities; we’ve looked at living things and their habitats; and enjoyed reading “The Whisperer” as part of our ‘No Outsiders’ studies. Our singing for our Carol Service is coming along nicely and Year 6 have the responsibility of sharing the readings with our congregation so lots of line learning has been taking place, too.
We would like to say a very special “Thank You” to Mr Hugh Davies. Hugh is a former parent, governor, and chair of governors who has been giving up his own time each Tuesday, to come into school and run a lovely reading group with some of our keen Year 6 pupils. It is a very thoughtful thing for Hugh to do and we would like to take this special opportunity to thank Hugh, and wish him, and his family, a very Happy Christmas.
