Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 12th June 2026
Y6 – Friday 12th June 2026 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
The weeks are whizzing by and we are enjoying every minute in Year 6 – that’s the children and adults, too. We began with a little maths, considering packaging for our White Rose Maths Bakery task and how to ensure we don’t get squished cupcakes. We’ve read a little further in our class book “The Good Thieves” and we are currently re-writing one of our darker scenes which includes some fantastic descriptions. Our afternoons have seen us looking at hat designs and creations with Mrs Riddell as well as musical compositions with Mrs Sant. Mrs Cowell has been helping us to create our own blood, looking at what makes up our system. Friday saw us enjoy our second Task Master activity and we finished the week with a fantastic June Evening – thank you to everyone for your support with this. The football World Cup has kicked off and everyone in the class has got two teams in our 2026 Sweepstake – let the footy commence!
We are focusing on our show, Rock Bottom, and it’s beginning to come together really well. We have asked the class to do their very best to know their lines by Monday 22nd June so that we can stop using these in rehearsals and begin to focus on stage actions, directions and props. We’ll be sending details of tickets shortly.
There may be a few emails and messages as we work through our final few weeks – please forgive us for pestering but do keep an eye open for dates, times and reminders as the days tick by. We have our parent information evening on Monday 15th June to tell you all about our upcoming residential to Willersley Castle. This starts at 3:40pm and should last approximately 45 minutes.
