Y6 – Friday 13th February 2026 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

We are half way through the year and it is quite hard to believe but clearly, time flies when we’re having fun.  This week, we have completed our biographies for our Endurance crew members.  Most of the factual detail is accurate, but were we have embellished information, the children have created some clearly poignant thoughts.  Hopefully, you’ll be able to read these at some point.  Our maths topic on algebra has also been finished – this has been challenging at times, but lots of fun, too.  We have set our homework for the Stars and Stripes; played Game of Survival with regard to the Earth’s timeline; considered evolution and inheritance; discussed the pepper moth; looked at managed data online; enjoyed the Young Voices concert; worked an railway art; perfected our dance moves; considered clothing in French; and finally, enjoyed time with our wonderful buddies.

Looking forward:

  • We will be starting a few new topics in our lessons after half term – a new book for English and a change of topic for maths. PE this half term is rounders.

  • Thursday 26th February – Rainbow Hamper Day – Our class is “RED”. Pupils can come in free dress, please bring donations (of whatever you choose) in RED
