Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 13th June 2025
Y6 – Friday 13th June 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
Busy busy in Year 6 this week – our writing has focused on our protagonist, Christopher Forrester, and his (secret) climb of the hill – what could possibly be up there that is so dangerous? We’ve also completed the White Rose Bakery project and we’re hoping to be able to make the cakes at some point before we finish – watch out for details if this goes ahead. We investigated heart rates on Monday with some physical exercise; we’ve really enjoyed our time in the swimming pool; we’ve enjoyed working with Mr Cowell on the microbits – a quick reaction quiz was devised – all really hi-tech stuff! We’ve finished the week with PE and buddies and we’ve also learned about our dormitories for our upcoming residential. The weeks to this are ticking by.
Photos will follow on Monday
Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:

Family discussion questions:
- What do the words “infinitesimally” and “augur” mean and where have you heard these in class?
- Tell me what you’ve been doing with microbits?
- What did you find your heart rate to be? How did this change with exercise?
Looking forward:
- So next week will be a little different. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be as normal. For many pupils, Thursday and Friday are transition days to different high schools. For the pupil who are not on transition, we will welcome you into school as normal and then we’ll have a few tasks set – this might involve little friends!
