Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 14th November 2025
Y6 –Friday 14th November 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
What an excellent week we have enjoyed in Year 6 – it was especially lovely to chat with families to say how well everyone has settled into Year 6 and to celebrate some fabulous achievements and contributions from our pupils. Over the last few days we have studied our model text about Darwin; practised working with adding & subtracting fractions in reasoning questions; consolidated our French vocabulary; learned all about the local Lindow Man; classified liquorice allsorts in science (without scoffing them); collected leaves for branching data bases (do you see what we did there?); enjoyed a My Happy Mind session; practised our skills in PE; and created towers during wet playtimes. A busy, bustling week!
Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- JB Yoga with Mrs Riddell (see our photos on our class page)
- JA PE
- IB Our incidental writing for English
- GH Learning facts about Ghandi
Family discussion questions:
- Why were you sorting Haribo and Liquorice Allsorts?
- What did you collect leaves for?
- Tell me all about Lindow Man.
Looking forward:
- We are looking forward to getting stuck into our discovery narrative writing this week and to having lots of fun with fractions too. Our studies for all our subjects will continue into a fairly normal week – who knows what may crop up!
- Free dress day on Thursday for chocolate!
- Beetle Drive on Friday – come along for some beetling fun!
