Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 17th October 2025

Y6 –Friday 17th October  2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

Our preparation for our Exhibition was completed this week and the prep work for display now begins.  We are looking forward to sharing our work with you this week – it’s going to look amazing with the whole school effort.  Thank you, families, for supporting us with the work towards this.

We have almost finished our class book “Stig of the Dump” and we are looking forward to finding out how this will end.  Maths has seen us complete our unit of work based around the four operations.  We have researched the Cederberg Caves to support the Standing Stones work and we have looked at self-image and identity online for our e-safety work.

Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • LM Doing our handprints with our buddies
  • TB Working with Mrs Goldsmith on our artwork
  • GH Buddytime
  • IHA Doing our writing about Stig and Barney
  • IB Publishing our work
  • JR Maths
  • JA PE

Family discussion questions:

  • Tell me what you’ve been working on with Mrs Goldsmith
  • How do you think the story “Stig of the Dump” might end?
  • How did your buddies manage to do their handprints?

Looking forward:

  • We are extremely excited to share our work with you – our Exhibition opens from 2pm to 6pm on Wednesday and Thursday. We’ll see you there.
  • The juniors will be performing at 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday – everyone welcome
