Y6 – Friday 20th June 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
It’s been a tad different this week in Year 6 – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were absolutely normal. Lessons, breaktimes, lunches, etc. Then on Thursday and Friday, the class was a tad smaller. We hope that the children who are transitioning to Holmes Chapel had a fantastic time and are feeling a settled and excited for the step to Year 7 come September.
At the beginning of the week, we welcomed Reverend Christine in for a chat, followed by art and sketching with Mrs Cowell. We learned, and discussed, the topic of vaping as part of our science work, while Mr Cowell came in to take us through another exciting lesson with Microbits. We’ve almost completed our writing about “The Stampede” and we’re now in the hall to practise “Let’s Loose”. One more week gone, the time in Year 6 is ticking away far too fast!

Looking forward:
- The coming week is possibly that last “normal” week that we have coming up. We do have the school nurse visiting on Tuesday morning to complete the annual Year 6 heights and weights check.
