Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 21st November 2025
Y6 –Friday 21st 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
Three weeks into our second half term and we’ve been enjoying lots of lessons and learning this week. We have begun to compose a discovery narrative for English and have been busy multiplying and dividing fractions in maths. For our afternoons, we’ve enjoyed netball outside (sunny, but chilly); we’ve considered the mines over at Alderley Edge; started rehearsing for our Christmas carols service; been introduced to Carl Linnaeus; looked at online relationships; and learned about bacteria in science. It was lovely to see the children in free dress for chocolate on Thursday – trust us, every bar of choccy made it to the right place!!
Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- GH Working on the five kingdoms drawing with Mrs Cowell
- HN Writing our Discovery Narratives with Mrs Timmins
- IB Playing with out buddies on Friday
- LM Doing “Blooket” with Mrs Cowell
- OJ PE with Mrs Murdock
- HH Singing Practice with Mrs Sant
- GH Looking at the Holy Trinity with Mrs Riddell

Family discussion questions:
- What is the scientific name for your creature in your own discovery narrative?
- What is “Blooklet”?
- Talk to me about the five kingdoms drawing you’ve done.
- Explain the Holy Trinity to me.
Looking forward:
- We have a quite week in Year 6 with just our regular lessons continuing – nothing specific to note (that we can think of). Year 6, you just need to keep on being brilliant.
