Year 6 – Looking Back and Forth – Friday 25th September 2026

Looking Back

This week, we have enjoyed writing our biographies about our crew members and we have researched some amazing details for you to read at our Exhibition. In maths, we are practising negative numbers and we are now looking at addition & subtraction of integers with questions presented in a variety of different ways to challenge us.  We are investigating mushrooms (who, by the way, all have names) and we are learning about the Five Kingdoms.  Shackleton’s journey is being mapped and plotted as we learn about what happened to the crew of The Endurance. We considered self-image and identity when looking at e-safety. On Thursday, we continued to learn about pilgrimage and Friday afternoon, we enjoyed lacrosse. There are a few photos on our display page - take a look at our feet!!!

Our biggest excitement this week was meeting our fabulous new buddies – it was a wonderful session to see them sharing their lovely books about themselves and the overwhelming thoughts were how “they’re so cute”.  Mrs Flint, and Mrs Beardsworth, have worked their magic and paired the children beautifully.

Looking Forth

We are excited to start our week with our forest school session on Monday and we’ll end the week with seeing buddies.  In between, we will finish our biographies and move onto our next piece of writing for the exhibition. There will be lots going on in class to work towards our display.
