Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 28th April 2023

Y6 – Friday 28th April 2023 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

This week, the class has been enjoying a full range of activities with English focusing on writing excellent letters of complaint, whilst maths has seen us working with our final lessons on shape and coordinates.  The Kingdom of Benin has been a unit of work that we are beginning, whilst science has seen us learning about the heart and the circulatory system.  Wednesday saw us using ICT for coding – the Scratch characters were quite psychedelic!  It was a super session led by a sixth-form student from HCCS.  Hat designing, buddies and cricket completed our week and we are looking forward to the bank holiday weekend, too.

Thank you to families who were able to pop into class on Thursday to enjoy looking at our pupils’ work.  It was a please to share the books with you.

Letters issued Y6:

Swimming letters given out on Tuesday – please return to ensure your child is able to participate in the swimming lessons.  For pupils who require goggles, a separate form may be obtained from Mrs Carroll at reception.  Thank you.

Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Working on our letters of complaint
  • Looking at coordinates in maths
  • Buddies
  • Being with friends

Looking forward:
