Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 30th January 2026
Y6 – Friday 30th January 2026 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
A busy week within Year 6 which has seen us continue our work with Shackleton by reading and analysing a biography about this great leader. The children have been busy researching their own crew member and we are now ready to write biographies of the 26 crew members. We have begun to practise the mathematics of algebra – do have a look at our questions below (for some house points, perhaps). Our afternoons have included studies of ‘The Carolinas’; Charles Darwin and adaptations; digital safety sessions for IT; comparing and contrasting climate data; The Macarena; and visiting the bookfair with buddies.
Thank you to those who were able to make the SATs information evening – paper copies of the handouts will be given to pupils on Monday. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you.
Just a heads up for families – the children will be starting their new CGP homework books as part of their revision for the SATs in May. These will be “little and regular” with the homework set. Thank you for your support with this.
Don't forget to check out our class photos each week.
