Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 3rd October 2025
Y6 – 26th September Friday 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
Our photos from last week have (inadvertently) been added as "files" and not "photos" so can't be viewed as easy - I'll upload again on Monday!
No two weeks are ever the same – although we have a similar outline for our lessons, each week brings a new focus and interesting work to complete. We have researched and widened our understanding of history with a focus on learning about standing stones and stone circles this week. Some independent research was conducted well with children using websites and laptops to find out about these great monuments. We have used an interesting way to “paint” this week – a few photos will help to explain this. In maths, we have looked at prime factors, rules for divisibility, applying square and cube numbers to reasoning, looking at the order of operations for arithmetic, and using our knowledge of standard written multiplication. Our afternoons have seen us continue our artwork with Mrs Cowell and Mrs Riddell, whilst also learning about Star Carr and religious symbols. It was disappointing to miss buddies on Friday but the weather was just too blustery. However, we will do our best to make up for this in the coming weeks. It’s been fun to watch the 1981 TV version of Stig of the Dump: it’s not quite HD TV but it’s really fun to enjoy this together. Why not check out our photos from this week to see what we’ve been enjoying, too.
Next week is busy – please see the notes below for what is going on each day for our class. Thank you.
