Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 5th September 2025

Year 6 – Friday  2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

It was amazing to welcome our new Year 6 class into school on Wednesday and so far, we are having a great time, exploring our new routines, books, work, expectations and responsibilities.  Thank you to all our families who were able to make it to our welcome meeting on Friday.  For those who weren’t able to, there will be a paper copy of the handouts coming home with your child on Monday.  A PDF version of the presentation is also available to download on the Year 6 page of the website.

Each weekend, we will post our news of the week, entitled “Looking Back and Forth”.  We may also post lots of class photos from the week so that you can see what we have been up to and what your child has been learning about in class.  Once we have finalised parental permissions for photos, these will begin to be shared on our “Display Work Items” tab – simply scroll to the bottom of the page to find both updates.

We will be opening two surveys regarding visits this week. One is for a half day visit in October and the other is for the Year 6 residential (yes, we’re already planning for July!!).  We’d appreciate your response to these by the dates requested so that we can continue, or complete, or admin.  Thank you.

This week, the class have begun to read two different stories with us.  Perhaps you might ask them the titles of the books that Mrs Timmins and Mrs Cowell are each sharing with them.

We are really looking forward to working with our class, and yourselves as our families this year.  If you have any queries, please do get in touch with us via the range of measures on our Year 6 page.

Best wishes

The Year 6 Team
