Y6 – Friday 6th February 2026 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

Our penultimate week before half term has been as busy as ever.  We’ve begun to write our biographies about our Endurance crew members with some research, combined with a little invented detail, adding in the extra little snippets of creative information.  They read ever so well.  We’ve begun to get our teeth into the challenge questions of algebra, and are now practising solving one-step equations.  We have considered shops and positions in French; looked at plant and animal adaptations in science; planned and budgeted a holiday to Florida; learned about Mary Anning; considered digital safety online; looked at the anatomy of hats; enjoyed dance; and spent time with our buddies.

Our children have been given our CGP revision books for homework this week – please do ask if you have any queries.  Thank you for your support with this.

Looking forward:

  • We are looking forward to our final week of half term with a few busy days to come. We’ll complete our English unit on Shackleton; our Algebra maths topic will be completed by Friday; and our foundation studies will continue at a pace. 
  • Some of our pupils will be enjoyed the Young Voices visit on Thursday – we hope you enjoy your singing
