YR 1 Looking Back & Forth
What a great first week back we have had in year 1!
Looking back:
- We learnt 3 new sounds this week in phonics!

- We started our new story in English: Where the Wild Things Are - we learnt about verbs and wrote some super poems.
- We learnt how to measure using centimetres in maths.
Highlights:
- We enjoyed using oil pastels, charocoal and soft pastels in art to experiment with different types of lines.
- We learnt all about birds and fish in science.
- We have enjoyed reading the new books in our reading area.
- We had fun measuring different objects in our classroom.
Looking forward:
- Next week we will start to look at weight and mass in maths.
- We will explore hoe artists could use music as a stimulus.
- We will start our new science topic and learn about all things insects!
- We will continue to learn about Neil Armstrong in more detail.
