YR 1 Looking Back & Forth

Wow! What an amazing start to Year 1. 

The children have settled in brilliantly over the past couple of days and it has been lovely getting to know them. 

Looking back:

• We explored our new classroom. We really enjoyed the new farm shop and construction areas!
• We chilled out in the reading corner and listened to lots of new stories.
• We created jigsaw pieces and filled them with drawings all about ourselves.
• We came up with our class rules and discussed the importance of kindness and respect.
• We used collage to make some underwater creatures for our exhibition!

Looking forward:

• Next week, we will go over our phase 3 sounds in phonics. 
• We will start to look at our English text 'Paper Planes' and investigate what the characters have left in our classroom over the weekend!
• We will sort objects in maths.
• We will look at the human body in science.
