Yr 4 Friay 14th June 2019 - Looking Back and Forth

Friday 14th June  2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week we completed our end of year assessments.  These were to see how we have progressed over the year.  The children worked hard on these and I was really proud of their positive attitudes.

In maths we looked multiplication grid multiplication and chunking in division.

In the wider currciulum we looked at the EU (European Union) and also discussed the children’s understanding of BREXIT.  As well as talking through the process and the implications from different peoples points of view.

We looked at food chains in science, the children loved working together on this work.  The children had a great time with the Premier coaches on Friday morning.  They were playing dodgeball (whilst exploring at team dynamics and communication skills with the class) It was wonderful to see the sweaty and smiling faces at the end!

Year 4 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • June Evening
  • Premier sports Dodgeball!
  • Scratch in computing

Family discussion questions:

  • Can you remember what a carnivore, herbivore and omnivore is?
  • What can you remember about what you learnt about the EU?
  • What can you remember about what you learnt about BREXIT?
  • How do you use grid multiplication?
  • What went well at June Evening?
  • (If you had a stall) what would you do differently next time?

Looking forward:

This week the children will have a mega maths week!  We will be looking at Factors, scaling and Perimeter.
