Yr 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 15th May 2026
🔙 Looking Back – This Week in Year 4
This week, the children have planned and prepared to write their own versions of a twisted fairy tale. These terrible tales have some rather grisly endings! The princess in The Princess and the Frog is in for a shock, the Three Little Pigs face a terrible surprise, and as for Jack… let’s just say: Giant 1, Jack 0!
In Maths, we have been learning how to subtract fractions, including whole numbers and mixed numbers.
In My Happy Mind, we have finished the unit on Relate, which focused on our relationships with others. We explored how, in different situations, we can Stop, Understand and Consider. These three words can help us understand situations from another person’s perspective.
🏆 Children’s Highlights
- Playing with friends on the field
- Playing Blooket times tables games
- Creating posters about children’s rights
- Making bee posters
- Working on classification grids in ICT
- Completing times tables tests
- Designing money containers in Design Technology
