🔙 Looking Back – This Week in Year 4

Year 4 have been working incredibly hard this week! Viking sagas, printing, and preparations for the Exhibition are all well underway.

📖 English – We began writing our Viking saga, The Curse of Andvari. It’s a gripping and complex tale, and the children are tackling it brilliantly.
➕ Maths – We explored Roman Numerals and the rules for using them.

• Learning a new song about Odin

• Exploring daily life for Vikings

• Creating Longboat Dragonhead art

• Learning about Islamic weddings and Mehndi hand patterns

📚 Homework This Week

• ✍️ English – Capital letters and SPaG mat

• ➕ Maths – Exercise 3 sheet (approx. 40 mins)

• 📖 Reading – At least 15 minutes daily

  • Please ensure reading records are brought in on Monday

  • Don’t forget Accelerated Reader quizzes!

• 🎵 TT Rockstars – 10 mins daily or one 20-min session

• 📝 Spellings – Test on Wednesday (short, regular practice helps!)

• ✏️ Presentation Reminder – Pencil or blue/black pen only; no felt tips

• 🔢 Times Tables – Practice all tables this week

📬 Homework is due by Friday – children know where to hand it in!
