YR1 Looking Back & Forth 18.9.26

We have had another lovely week in Year 1!

Looking back: 

• We did our first piece of writing in our English books; we used adjectives to describe our own paper planes!
• We learnt to count using 1-1 correspondence in maths and to count objects from a larger group.
• We revisted some phase 3 sounds in phonics.

Highlights:

• We loved Forest School on Monday. We made our own islands and even toasted marshmallows! 
• We enjoyed learning about our 5 senses in science. 
• We have created some beautiful paintings with water colour paints.

Looking forward: 

• Next week we will write short captions in character in English. 
• We will learn to recognise numbers as words and to count on from any number in maths. 
• We will take part in a smell investigation in science. 
• We will learn about different areas in geography, inclduing: town, city. village and coastal areas.
