YR1 Looking Back & Forth 20.3.26
We have had a great week in Year 1!
Looking back:
- We planned our detective narratives, ready for writing next week!
- We learnt two new sounds: y (ee) and ew (oo/yoo)
- We looked at the number line to 50 in maths and learnt how to estimate.
Highlights:
- We had so much fun making our own birdhouses on Thursday and Friday afternoon. We were so creative!
- We labelled real life plants in science and learnt about what each part of the plant does.
Looking forward:
- We will write our own narratives in English.
- We will finish our place value within 50 unit in maths and start our length and height unit.
- We will learn all about the moon landing in history and look at evidence.
- We will have our marble jar end of term treat!
Questions to ask at home:
- What features does a bird house need?
- What comes after 46? How do you know?
- Why is an exclamation mark used?
- What are the parts of a plant? What does each part do?
