Yr1 Looking Back & Forth 6.2.26

We have had another busy week in year 1!

Looking back:

  • We finished our beautiful polar landscape paintings, using our knowledge of colour mixing to add trees of different shades.
  • We planned our finding stories reading to start our writing next week!

Highlights:

  • We completed a science experiment to see which gloves would be best for a polar explorer - we held ice cubes whilst wearing the gloves to test their warmth and lots more!
  • We ordered toys on a timeline.
  • We learnt how to add detail to our paintings, using thin brushes and lines.

Looking forward:

  • Next week we will write our finding stories in 4 parts - using visuals to help us.
  • We will learn about the location of polar places relating to the equator in science/geography.
  • We will have our marble jar treat for all of our hard work this term!

Questions to ask at home:

  • What is an adverb of time?
  • If 5 - 3 = 2 then 15 - 3 =

Thank you for another great week Year 1!

Kind regards,
