YR1 Looking Back & Forth 9.10.26
We have had a busy week in Year 1, preparing for the exhibition!
Looking back:
- In phonics, we recapped er and ure from phase 3.
- In English, we learnt about verbs and wrote sentences to describe how our paper planes moved through the air.
- In maths, we learnt to find 'one less' than a given number between 1-10.
Highlights:
- Creating our diorama's for the exhibition.
- Putting buttons on our amazing sea creatures.
- Using our sense of sight in a science investigation.
- Learning about human and physical features in Geography.
- Making rotating mechanisms in DT using split pins.
Looking forward:
- We will complete our final piece of writing for the exhibition, we can't wait for you all to see!
- We will explore our 2 remaining senses (hearing and touch) in science.
- We will learn to sequence a story in English.
- We will learn to use the greater than, less than and equal to signs in maths.
- We will start to learn phase 4 phonics.
- We will name and locate the 4 countries of the United Kingdom in geography.
- We will listen to a talk from Bidlea Dairy as part of our journeys exhibition!
