YR1 Looking Back & Forth

Looking back:

• We wrote amazing character descriptions in English.
• We learnt about word endings in phonics: 'ed' and 'es' 
• We finished our fractions unit in maths by looking at quarters.

Highlights: 

• We loved our visit to our new class on Thursday morning! We played lots of fun games and even did a bit of maths. 
• We enjoyed taste testing for our healthy sandwiches in DT. 
• We designed our own sunglasses in science to protect our eyes from the sun.

Looking forward:

• We can't wait to design our sandwiches next week.
• We will start to plan our story writing in English.
• We will move onto looking at place value to 100 in maths.
• We will learn all about rock pools in science and what we might find in them.

• What does a 'balanced diet' mean?
• How many equal parts do we need to split a shape into to make quarters?
