YR1 Looking Back & Forth
What a great week we have had in Year 1.
Looking back:
- We learnt how to partition numbers up to 100 into tens and ones in maths.
- We planned our own narratives in English, ready to write them next week.
- We learnt two new sounds in phonics: are (air) and ore (or)
Highlights:
- We enjoyed our Pirate and Princesses Day. We had so much fun doing the activities; we made wands, pirate hats, crowns and so much more!
- We had a lesson with the children from ElizabethFontein where they told us all about their school and what it is like in South Africa.
- We also had fun dancing with them and learning their 'circle of life' dance!
Looking forward:
- We will be writing our last narratives of the year!
- We will start to look at time in maths.
- We will learn the sound mb (m) in phonics.
- We will look at maps in geography and create our own birdseye view map of the school using a key.
- We will design our own healthy sandwiches in DT.
